Each birthday is a step we take on the road to inevitable final days. We will all grow old. We will all die. We will all live this human world. No one is exempted.
No one who was proclaimed dead, embalmed and inside the coffin already, as far as I know, got up from the grave and would react to whatever the visitor’s statement at the funeral. But they say it is expected that always every body will say something nice about the deceased. Try say something unpleasant and for sure all the people around you will cast a look of ‘be considerate that person is already dead".
So, why we have to wait for the necrological service or some few days left of our love ones, family members, friends, relatives, neighbours, enemies, co-workers and our fellows to give our forgiveness, show our love, touch them with care, say our prayers and offer our warmest hug. At the funeral though how loud you cry or how much tears you shed, it won’t matter anymore. We are all guilty of these. Guilty of what ifs and why not. And regretting of the lost days we could have spent loving, caring, forgiving and spreading peace.
Life is short. Better not harbour grudge or hatred. So, while our human body can feel the senses, why not caress. Our eyes can see, why not look at the good side. Our ears can hear, why not utter thankfulness. Our lips can speak; why not say ‘I love you’.
I believe we are just boarders here on earth, a traveller of this world, and not so far from coming we will then pay our rent and end our journey because we will all come home, our true home.
Contrary to every body’s understanding, for me, DEATH is a celebration as much as birthdays. I see death as a memorial that Our Creator gave us a chance to be alive and co-exist with other amazing individuals, whether how short or long our stay. Because He could have ended our lives from the beginning, yet He still allowed us some more years.
Our precious single life is borrowed, when it will be taken, no one knows, only God knows when. I have red a phrase from somewhere that it says “It is not about quantity but it is about the quality we live.”
( I pray that every one will find in their heart of hearts to love and have the courage to embrace the changes and the unknown. )
