Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton " The Battle of East and West. "

On May 2, 2009, in MGM Grand Las Vegas is the most awaited boxing fight, " The Battle of East and West ", between Filipino star Manny Pacquiao vs British slugger Ricky Hatton. With just a little over a week remaining, the ticket is already sold out announced by promoters. With this development, Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotion said the Pacquiao-Hatton fight will likely shatter existing pay-per-view records.

Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao's coach, assures that Pacquiao (48-3-2, 38 KOs) is already in top shape, though Manny Pacquiao skipped training at the Wild Card Gym when Pacquiao invited to throw the ceremonial pitch in the Giants-Padres match at the AT&T ballpark.

“Again, it’s the best thing in the world for him. I look at it as a good thing. I have a guy who’s ready to fight. If I have a guy who wasn’t ready and I was kind of pushing to get him to where I wanna be, then I would be worried,” said Roach.

As opposed to Freddie Roach assurance, Ricky Hatton (45-1, 32 KOs) is not convinced in Pacquiao being a “complete fighter,” saying it just takes proper adjustment to beat the current pound-for-pound king.

“But I think you get adjusted to this style — I don't see a versatile fight in Manny Pacquiao,” Hatton
continued.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Today, April 22, is Earth Day a celebration and a commemoration as well. A celebration of thanksgiving for having too marvelous planet we live in. We're living in a globe filled with grace of nature that there is nothing to ask for. Look around and savor the God-given beauty. We have the previlege to be mesmerize with the brilliance of the sky, explore the vastness of the sea and enjoy the splendor of the earth. Being with nature like going to breathtaking places can easily lift our spirit.

The same time it's a commemoration day to be aware of the present earth's condition. Our planet is irreplaceable because there is nothing like our planet earth we can find in the solar system. Once we abuse it to stark destruction, I think that's the moment human race is doom.

It's never too late but it will be too late, if we don't act now what we ought to do. Look around and see what you can. Start with small contribution you can think of to add in caring our planet earth. For if mankind do small things pretty soon our small things will be big enough to save the earth. Like being careful with your trash or ebbing the pollution.

We have a great gift from God Almighty chosen to be the steward. So it's our duty to be responsible of this gift, our Planet Earth. And today is also the day to pay credit to our Maker and thank Him.

Andrea Notter was freed from Abu Sayyaf kidnapping

Andrea Notter, a swiss national and one of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) volunteer was freed at last from 93-day captivity of Abu Sayyaf. Notter and two other ICRC volunteers - Italian Eugenio Vagni, Filipino Mary Jean Lacaba - were seized by armed gun men after they conducted a water sanitation study of Jolo provincial jail on Jan. 15.

Lacaba was first released on April 2. So the two captives, Lacaba and Notter were freed. Unfortunately, Vagni, 62 y.o., still remains in captivity of Abu Sayyaf who happened to be unwell because of Hernia.

Wether this will be of importance or not to our fellow Abu Sayyaf. I'd still extend my earnest request to them to Please have mercy and let Mr. Vagni go home now. Please release Mr. vagni. He's old and yet unwell, most likely he's having a hard time walking at the same time transferring from one place to another out there in the forest. And sure enough his family must be distraught of fear about Vagni's safety.

In the first place, the three ICRC volunteers set foot in Jolo with good intention and noble cause to build projects for the purpose of helping people of Jolo. Such dire violence like this will simply lead to shooing away beneficial opportunity or lucrative opportunities for Jolo and some parts of Mindanao.

Any place that there are War, violence, guns and kidnapping, here or abroad, are stealing away hopes, peace, time, and future of the people especially the innocent children. It's so outrageous! They don't deserve these. No one does. Children are the real victims. Their future is more valuable that any one's egoistic interest. Little by litte, inch by inch, children being caught amidst war of violence are dying for their dreams and hopes are shattered into pieces. More so, before they realize it, the fun, innocence and life of being a child are corrupted to nothing.

WORLD PEACE PLEASE!!!

Tragedy in Ted Failon's family

Mean Arteche, sister of Trinidad Arteche-Etong, wife of broadcaster Ted Failon, breaks down at the news of her sister's death and appeals to Superintendent Franklin Mabanag to let them go. Arteche vowed never to forgive the policemen who forcibly took her and her siblings away from their sister during her last moments.

It's all over the news about the tragedy in Ted Failon's family. Ted Failon is the news anchor of ABS-CBN network. Yesterday (4-17-09), as I passed by a news stand all the newspaper whether broad sheets or tabloid, the front page is all about Ted Failon's wife found shot in the bathroom. Her wife was still brought to the hospital because she was still breathing when she's found. And last night(4-18-09) she passed away.

The said incident is under investigation by the police to determine if it is a suicide case or there is a foul play. I'm not a police to pretend knowledgeable, but of course it is S.O.P. of the police to conduct aninvestigation then look at every angle of foul play. It is understood, in each case everybody is a suspect or everybody can be a suspect.

I saw on National televesion how the police with their power and jurisdiction arrested the household helper and how the policemen with their power and jurisdiction treated the family. They just arrested the household helper without consideration of reading the Miranda Rights to them. And the treatment to the family is sort of harrassment, I think that's what you call foul. To view the video click here.

For Christ's sake the family is in their deepest emotional struggle, his wife was found drenched in blood with shot in the head, her mother laying in bed fighting for her life, her sister committed suicide. Yet, the police should at least considerably and sensibly invited or arrested the family members if they are suspects, if that's the case. Isn't it even the criminals have rights too.

I symphatize with the family of Ted Failon especially with the children. For some people they made it like a spectacle out of the family's misery their going through. How dreadful to imagine, inside the I.C.U. where the patient is in critical condition. Supposedly, the patient needs privacy, consideration, peace and time to get well. How dreadful to imagine, inside the I.C.U. where the patient is in critical condition, the room is full of people - cameramen, mediamen and arresting police. How could the patient be at peace then.

Mr. Ted Failon my condolences...
